The FBI is currently investigating more than 100 unsolved civil rights murders that occurred prior to 1969. The cases have been re-opened as part of the Civil Rights-era Cold Case Initiative which began in February 2006.

This was an excellent story; however, the name of one of the three Civil Rights leaders killed in 1964 was mispronounced--he was Michael Schwerner (not Scherner); there is a "w" in his last name. Thanks from a dedicated listener, Susan
