The Republican National Convention was a scripted, curated affair. Yet so many news stories from Florida are genuinely odd. Brooke speaks with Florida crime reporter Will Greenlee and novelist Karen Russell (a Floridian herself) about some of the weirdest stories and why Florida is such fertile ground for strangeness.

This segment was like Brook having her friend in her living room talking absolute nonsense. Unbelievable.
Zounds! No mention of Carl Hiassen?
Brooke, for someone who lived in California for a year, to say on the air that California has consistent weather would suggest you spent all your time there in some sort of a bubble. This is a state as long as from NYC to Savannah with as wild swings of weather as any place in the nation if not more so. Especially around Palo Alto, or Eureka or Sacramento. Even Florida is a poor example of a state with consistent weather. Ever been in Jacksonville in the Winter?
