Tear down that paywall, Mr. Murdoch! (And others.) As a keeper of news paywall keys I will think of Ms. Colvin's last concerns when I admonish my boss to place more content in front of our paywall.
Did I hear Brooke say "funny story"? I'm trying to figure out what was funny about Marie Colvin wanting her stories on the carnage in Homs, Syria to reach the largest possible audience.
The fact that Brookes' comment bothers me is irrelevant. A better use of time would be to write Congress voicing support for US intervention in Syria. For Colvin and Ochlik. http://www.usa.gov/Contact/Elected.shtml
In a discussion with a reporter this morning regarding the media and the tensions in Iran, Brooke Gladstone's tone was flip, dismissive, condescending, and altogther offensive with regard to any opinion or point of view other than her own. Perhaps I don't understand the premise of the show.
A casual listener is probably confused to who they should be more upset with regarding the loss of this journalist.
Rupert Murdock who is named amongst the description of the carnage or Bashar al-Assad who goes unmentioned and for whom a wrathful "firing squad" is a ferocious literal reality and not a dramatic rhetorical flourish.
