It's the home stretch for the Presidential campaigns and the fact-checkers that follow on their heels. Recently, Dr. Kathleen Hall Jamieson of the Annenberg Center for Public Policy, FactCheck.org and Flackcheck.org wrote an Op-Ed praising the TV fact-checkers in Denver for a job well-done fact-checking political ads in their crucial swing state. Brooke spoke with Jamieson who says that when it comes to fact-checking, execution matters.

Wait, an example of "fact-checking done right" is a warmed-over version of Politifact's credibilty-destroying hatchet job about Republicans not actually trying to kill Medicare? Even after Tommy Thompson was caught on tape flatly saying that was the goal.
So in other words, according to Hall Jamieson -- and, apparently, you -- it's not substance it's presentation. Facts schmacts, it LOOKS good.
Meant to mention that Ms. Jamieson is always a welcome guest whose voice of reason is appreciated. My sainted Mom still loved hearing from her even at 93. For a lady who looks just like Trent Lott or Janet Reno, she's a real hero!
Mr. Mulligan, do you read what you post? "In 2009, the winner was the Republicans’ charge that the Democrats’ health care plan included "death panels." In 2010, it was that the plan was a "government takeover of health care."
I've seen those lies in current GOP ads for at least down-ticket candidates. Democrats occasionally fight fire with fire, fuhrer.
lol.
Politifact's parent, The Tampa Bay Times, which funds Politifact (its "project") has just endorsed Obama for reelection.

They're not being careless. I don't know who's calling the shots at OTM, but they've quite consciously made the economics of healthcare their go-to in fact-checking stories, when they want to point out a Democratic fib to counterbalance the Republicans'. This is why they're incapable of evaluating Politifact's truth claims, and why they keep going back to that trough.

Coffman supports vouchercare, which would Medicare as we know it. So your little clip alleging Coffman wouldn't end Medicare as stated in an attack ad is FALSE.
It really bothers me when you're so careless.
