Media professor Siva Vaidhyanathan explains how the internet giant is following the web wherever it leads.

Your guest delivered a suprisingly mediocre analysis of this story. Google is not necessarily interested in open standards; they are interested in establishing their standards as is detailed in an Aug 2, 2007 WSJ story titled "Google Pushes Tailored Phones To Win Lucrative Ad Market."

If this leads to google gaining monopoly power in the wireless data market, we will simply be exchanging one evil for another.
