The clip attributed to FOX and Friends was not FOX and Friends it was New York Times Best Seller Author Jonah Goldberg! His book "Liberal Fascism: The Secret History of the American Left from Mussolini to the Politics of Meaning" just came out in paperback.

I am confounded that OTM can not recognize the voice and/or the video of a former "All Things Considered" commentator.

What a grave error in journalistic standards and a dissapointment.

As the person who watched Fox News' post speech coverage and who pulled that clip for our show, I just want to clear this up.

The clip was in fact a clip of Jonah Goldberg speaking but he was speaking on Fox and Friends and we in no way took the clip out of context. Goldberg was speaking to Steve Doocy, Gretchen Carlson and Brian Kilmeade. After he said the thing about "constant apologizing" Doocy and Kilmeade agreed alluding to the fact that when Obama said Iraq was a war of choice, that constituted an apology.

I beg to differ that this was an error. It was not.

Thanks for the response, but it does not clear up the issue and remains an error.

What part of "Obama prompted this from FOX and friends" tells us that the clip was of Jonah Goldberg? Did Jonah Goldberg join Fox and Friends since the last time I checked?

I also highly doubt that quoting anything said by OTM guests as said by Brooke and/or Bob would be appropriate even if they assent to the statement after it is made.

Even if this was an attempt to capture an allusion to a line of the President's speech, it is not captured by the audio clip used.

I don't care if it was a clip of FOX News or not, bottom line, the audio and ideas contained within were not expressed by FOX News talent, they were expressed by Jonah Goldberg, not a host of FOX and Friends.

I think that because of the confusion of this audio clip, OTM should make it up to Mr. Goldberg by interviewing him for a segment on the next show highlighting his book now out in paperback. I can't think of a better way to atone, journalistically speaking, for attributing his ideas to FOX and Friends merely through their assent than to engage him on the substance of his ideas.

Nazanin, you've got to be kidding. That's your explanation. You're going to need a deep massage after that contortion. I understand OTM is about criticism and so the same factual standards don't apply compared to normal jouralism, but come on. How blatent can you be?

Not to slight Mr./Ms. Rafsanjani, but nothing here was worth the time waiting for my dial-up to open and display the page. What planet do these people live on? They're going to spend the rest of their lives counting the angels on the head of a Fox anchor.

Obama's "Cairo" speech was the most important and wisest ever given by an American president.

Obama has failed so egregiously regarding his cabinet and virtually every other promise he made during his campaign one wonders what the man is really like.

How can he talk such a good game and fail to make anything in the US better.

How can he invade Afghanistan, murder its population and continue murdering civilians in Pakistan and Iraq and give a speech like his brilliant, magnanamous "Cairo" address?

What's going on?

No clarification in the next weeks show? At least you have all week to properly work out the best way to fix this journalistic mistake. I look forward to the correction and interview with the person speaking in the audio clip. If not then a story about in what circumstances have the thoughts of one person have been attributed to others via their simple agreement. I look forward to examples.
