I was interested to hear your response to letters about the discussion with the ombudsman and the terminology of interrogation.
When, then, will someone have a thoughtful discussion about the rampant use of the term 'war' to refer to any armed conflict the US is engaged in?
This matter was handled more carefully in the sixties and early seventies...but since the last administration used the term as a rallying point, the media seems to have swooned at the chance to invoke 'war' at every turn.
The Senate may have delegated the decision point for use of force some time ago, but I think that a declaration of war against a political entity is still a foundation of Constitutional and international law. How bout we talk about that.

Interrogations may involve torture while torture needs not include interrogation.

Mr. Garfield, I am disappointed that while correcting errors you did not use the occasion to correct the misattribution of a direct quote in OTM's June fifth report on President Obama's Cairo speech.
