Six Weeks of Superbetter

Friday, November 18, 2011

In September, we spoke to game designer Jane McGonigal about her game Superbetter, which was designed to help players recover from injury and illness. On the Media producer Alex Goldman, who was hit by a car in May, played the game for the last six weeks and blogged about his experiences on our website. Brooke talks to Alex and Jane about how they played the game.

My project BicycleDriver.Com is based on understanding the importance of developing a healthy constructive way to think about bicycling and traffic, and I've seen how understanding the benefits of getting help can really improve your bicycling.

I hope that people like Alex can be helped by my project, just as I'm sure people will be helped by SuperBetter. Hmmmm...maybe Jane and I should team up?

This evening I was listening to OTM while on a very slow run. I was completely enthrolled about your story of Superbetter. Two months ago I was struck by a car while cycling to work. I was left with a broken scapula and a shoulder which required surgery. I have been working so hard to recover and was so moved by the OTM story. What a motivation! Thank you!
