I was more interested in this one than the political ones because it's in the "everyday" adverts that culture comes through. I was about to say that us Brits would never run an ad as sentimental as the car industry one but then I remembered this:

The last one is probably closest in tone to the Detroit one.

The music and the general feel of the ad has been running for generations and there are many Brits who would feel a lump coming to their throat when they watch it. However, it was recently pointed out (see http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b01m5hhy ) that we find that bit of music moving in its own right.
