Tired of Covering the Campaigns

Friday, September 07, 2012

This is the time when most Americans start paying attention to the campaigns, but political reporters have been on the election beat for more than a year and, according to Politico's Dylan Byers, are just plain sick of it. Brooke Speaks to Dylan about why journalists can't wait for this election cycle to be over with.

This is good journalism. but the topic isn't all that urgent. The interviewee makes good points though. i can see where he is coming from.

I don't often get cranky about so-called "rude language" but I felt that the "bitched" in "bitched and moaned" could easily been omitted or edited.... by Brooke... to make the show sound a little more professional and a little less like an amateur podcast.

Rude language? As in, Brooke using the phrase "bitched and moaned"? Sigh...

Rude language? Oh please.

Both the host and her host used rude language that was unnecessary during this segment. I wish both of them and Bob Garfield would consider the feelings of radio listeners who do not use such language.

Since many broadcasters usually talked about candidates for the Democratic Party and the Republican Party, I feel I must remind folks there are other political parties with their own presidential candidates. Also there are candidates campaigning independently, or without the support of political parties.
