#29 - Olivia Taters, Robot Teenager

Wednesday, June 18, 2014 - 06:08 PM

Rob Dubbin accidentally built a teenage girl named Olivia Taters who lives on the internet. She may not always communicate in complete sentences, but she's convincing enough that teenagers actually converse with her. Also, she's very, very funny. PJ talks to Dubbin about how Olivia came into existence, and what she's been talking about lately.

I like Olivia, but I think it's kind of a stretch to say that she really sounds like a robot teenager. I mean, she spent much of yesterday complaining about the stresses of work, and her back pain. She sounds like a teenage girl when you call her by a female name, tell people she's a teenager, and read her tweets in the voice of a teenage girl, but if you don't, I really think she could be anyone.
