Confiscating a Journalist's Documents

Friday, November 01, 2013

Audrey Hudson is a journalist for conservative news outlets like the Colorado Observer, NewsMax and The Washington Times. This August, while authorities executed a search warrant on her home on an unrelated matter, they confiscated some of her reporting notes. Now Hudson and The Washington Times are preparing a lawsuit against the Department of Homeland Security. Brooke talks to Hudson about the raid and the documents confiscated.

Freedom of the Press does exist in America? When I combine this story with others I've heard on your programme, I have my doubts.

Talk about something that feels like it is right out of The Onion! Except that it is apparently for real.

If for real, then DHS is astoundingly out to lunch, or somebody in power really doesn't like Ms. Hudson. But even so, this is akin to the Nazi's claiming Einstein was some sort of dangerous person because they discovered kitchen knives in his kitchen.

Sigh ...

Thank you for informing us while making us laugh. I couldn't help but crack up every time the phrase "potato launcher" was uttered. Can we at least use potato launchers to defend ourselves in the event of terrorist attack, or are they banned completely? How about Veg-O-Matics, are they okay?
